FATIMA AL QUADIRI….WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

We are completely obsessed with Fatima Al Quadiri aka Aysha.  We warn you http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AJobaxZqy18 (pun intended) that her music is not going to be for everyone but those who dig her are really going to love her sound.

Her album, Genre-Specific Experience is truly testing our organizing skills as we have placed her in almost every genre or playlist.  Blending all sorts of unorthodox and addicting vibes (juke, hip hop, dubstep, electro-tropicalia, and ’90s Gregorian trance) together to provide a sound that we like to describe as the soundtrack for Cocktails, if it were created by a witch house producer with Islamic roots.  Yeah, weird but those steel drums always remind me of Cocktails.

Most people crave more cowbells…well I crave more steel drums and she provides!

“How Can I Resis U” is probably one of our favorite tracks and while still being creepy it provides a more dance-floor ready song that just keeps chugging along and pushes right through you.

Come to find out that she used to be a Candy Raver…love you even more Fatima!

boniverotica:

This morning we sat on the front porch in a rocking chair, I on his lap, wrapped up in a blanket he’d knitted from wool he spun from the neighbor’s sheep. We watched the sun rise and he said, ‘I wonder if the sun knows how lucky he is to shine on your beautiful face every day’. A single tear marked his cheek.
